NICOLAS BOULET #PHOTOGRAPHY
Anthropologist, Sociologist, Photographer, Nicolas Boulet is an Artist ¡
His tool, photography, allows him to express so modestly, so directly and so strikingly how we are ¡, what we claim to be ¡, and certainly what we wish to be ¡.
He explores the question of our limits, our territories, our boundaries.
To do this, he mixes documentary photography, street photography and studio photography...
He tells us, suggests us Where are we ? Who are we between the window and the screen, reality and fiction?
We are drawn into his documentary work wherein the artist emphasizes contrasts.
They become decisive in expressing, explaining to us our multiple lives of consecutive experienced moments ...
Nicolas Boulet possesses this modesty which, through our suggested portraits, reveals to us how we possibly are ¡¡

"...I walk, roaming the pavements and asphalts; I observe you, I can read you in these sometimes deserted, at times densely crowded streets... Finally I hear you, I see you...
You are beautiful, you are magnificent in your Postures, your Natures and Cultures...
...I write, or attempt to write, with the Light, your lives and moments which occasionally remain in the shadows of the gazes...
I surmise there is no greater beauty than to "display" how you are and to suggest you to see who you are !
Sad, happy, lonely, sometimes angry...everything which can define yourselves and "decide" the beauty of the humanity to which we all belong.
The colours of my gaze are those of your smiles, your sorrows and your emotions.
The sight I offer you is one of a man who, without you, would not exist... "

« ...I feel like "poet", I have been a photographer for several decades.
Today, new writing, new approach, true freedom of movement, I move in the worlds that are changing ....
I write stories with my smartphone! I capture "things" with another sensitivity …
I used « sténopé », polaroid, I practiced the argentic, I use today my digital SLR camera and my smartphone!
I do not feel any limit in my expression, only that of vulgarity or hatred …
I sometimes say that the photographic report is like a dance .... you have to learn the movement … »
« ..I have now in my mind the words of Hervé Bazin. He declared that the invention of photography was “...the most important event in the history of the plastic arts because it has freed Western painting… from its obsession with realism and allowed it to recover its aesthetic autonomy...".
But I will not explain here the fundamental importance of this idea.
Photographer Sylvain Schneider is a man who discerns, lives and captures.
In this he is an Artist¡
Refined, he respects time, considers, looks and finally acts ...
He doesn't offer any compromise,
His photographs are often determining, genuinely felt, never banal.
Finally, it expresses itself in delicate poetry; and there our body and our mind are together to “go through” his work.
"... The act, the photographic gesture, the realization or the taking of photographs are by the technique intrinsic to the time ... Barely passed, time is inscribed in the memory, the words, the images become memories ... It is from these latent images that I construct, de-construct and then patiently assemble my images before they come to life on a silver film then on a print ... "
... Direct, uncompromising, voluntary, expressive, .. Such seems to be Maria Martin!
She knows how to understand and combine mind, body ¡
Her photographs determine a few words that engage without refusing an aestheticism that leads our gaze even more
Urban, lively, woman, she expresses herself and imposes these cultures and freedom!
Spanish, Maria Martin! claims her experiences not as a few paradigms but rather for a few experiences that lead to a few lives.
Subtle, delicate, humble, .. honest, this is JC Pratt!
He knows how to understand and conjugate lights, facts and "poetry"
These photographs give no lesson, they are there, and yet they challenge us, seduce us.
Urban, Rural, Vegetal, "littoral", his photographs do not judge us; he gives us to receive what he sees!
He possesses, it is undeniable, this gift ".. A la fin de l'envoi, je touche …"
These photographs accompany us a long time, always, with simplicity, but obviously!
JC Pratt is a photographer who has traveled the world for Grand-Reportage, Geo, Figaro, Gallimard Édition, Edition du Chêne …He lives in Charente Maritime, where he carries out some personal and determined introspections.
He collaborates with some artists for whom he realizes and shares various works inherent in memory and creation.
"...Often, to live in a place, a city, is to forget it as one lives there! I made this observation by talking here and there.
Alicante in Spain, where I realize exclusively my photographs, is, often, a noisy city!
Multiple cultures "crash", resonate and live together. It is a place of extraordinary emotions.
Give to feel, Give to discover, Give to see these sensations suggested, here or there, by the street, the places, the things, the landscapes and, the people who surprise, astonish and live, are for me essential requirements.
I like to suggest these multiple, ordinary or extraordinary lives, the real or supposed freedoms of those places and lives that intersect.
By "disguising" the reality of my photographs, suggesting an "essential detail" here or there, proposing an expression "original"; I suggest some other universes or interpretations!
These are the realities of our respective memories that must prevail.
I only wish to propose!..."
"...My photographs are an urban sub-scenography, a scenic indication completing the flow without pertaining to it...
In them appear simple signs of life, skimming the surface of an urban façade, detailing the silhouette of nameless internal lives... A real public hide-and-seek of abstract and innocuous details emphasized through a different, singular and creative gaze...
Each detail present acts as a collection of anonymous and fleeting signatures... "
"...Subtle, delicate, precise, felt, my photographs are like Haïku, it seems to me...So she offers you to discern, take, live this brief moment of fleetingness of a thing, of a movement or a transparency by all the emotions they arouse or suggest ¡... » Theo Arno
