“It is man's fragility which haunts me, and the difficulty of taking charge of one's destiny with regard to one's dreams...” once replied Franta about their artistic work. I view the world in a similar way to how we view the unbelievable. This vibrant world, inhabited by the living and the dead, nourished by passions, fragile in its embodiment, powerful in its regeneration and adaptability. Drama stands alongise rejoicement, irresolute desire alongside audacity, the sublime alongside the ordinary. Poetry is there, within these interstices. It is the cry. It is the song. The fulgurance of the moment, stripped of conventionalities and certainties. ​

 

The mediums in which I work are first nurtured by the material, to become terrains for exploration and encounters. The theme or subject, whether through the drawing process or absence of it, reinvents itself in these combinations of forms, opening up new avenues for reflection and emotion, provoking instantaneity and amplification... 
Born in Lorraine, resides and works in Brittany since 1979.

« C’est la fragilité de l’homme qui me hante et la difficulté de prendre en charge son destin par rapport à ses rêves… » répondait Franta à propos de son travail d’artiste. Je vois le monde un peu comme on voit l’incroyable. Ce monde vibrant, habité par le vivant et la mort, nourri de passions, fragile dans son incarnation, puissant dans sa régénération, son adaptabilité. Le drame côtoie le réjouissant, la velléité le courage, le sublime l’ordinaire. La poésie est là, dans ces interstices. Elle est le cri. Elle est le chant. La fulgurance de l’instant qui se dévêt des convenances, des certitudes.

Mes supports de travail se nourrissent d’abord de matières pour devenir alors terrains d’explorations et de rencontres. Le thème ou sujet, passé ou non par le dessin, se réinvente dans ces combinaisons de formes, ouvre de nouveaux chemins de réflexions, d’émotions, provoque l’instantanéité, s’amplifie… 
Né en Lorraine, vit et travaille en Bretagne depuis 1979.
