Michel Campistron is an artist....A painter, but it took him twenty years to begin exhibiting his work, with several shows both in France and abroad (Florence, Barcelona, Madrid).
Always keen to give meaning to his work, his canvases -in which fluidity and matter collide- reflect the scars of the passage of time, ‘the inescapable and the becoming’. A certain austerity, the tenebrous atmosphere which emanates from his creations, lets him claim the roots of his work in the Catalan movement of Tapiés, Millarès and Valdes, or the influences of creative minds such as Anselm Kiefer. Nowaday, the use of materials has taken on a predominant role and, continually in search of new experiences, Michel Campistron is developing an expression more akin to that of a plastic artist than that of a painter.

His work can be found in several public collections in France and abroad (Barcelona, Beirut, Monaco, Los Angeles).

Michel Campistron est un artiste....Peintre, ce n'est qu'au bout de vingt ans qu'il se décide à exposer son travail avec plusieurs expositions, en France mais également à l'étranger (Florence, Barcelone, Madrid).
Toujours enclin à donner du sens à son travail, ses toiles, où s'affrontent fluidité et matière, évoquent les blessures du temps
"l'inéluctable et le devenir". Une certaine rudesse, l'atmosphère ténébreuse qui se dégage de ses créations, l'autorise à revendiquer une appartenance à l'école catalane des Tapiés, Millarès, Valdes ou une influence de créateur, comme Anselm Kiefer.  Aujourd'hui, la matière a pris une place prépondérante et, toujours en quête de nouvelles expériences, Michel Campistron s'oriente vers une expression d'artiste plasticien, plus que de peintre.
